CHRISTENING SET SACQUE
YOKE
Ch 94 for neck edge.
Row 1 — 1 dc in 4th st from hook, 1 dc in each st of ch; 92 dc.
Row 2 — Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), turn, 1 dc in 2nd and in each of next 8 dc, 2 dc in next st, * 1 dc in each of next 5 sts, 2 dc in next st; repeat from * 11 times, 1 dc in each of next 9 sts; 105 dc.
Row 3 — Ch 3, turn, 1 dc in each of 3 dc, inc. 1 dc in next st and every 8th st until 13 increases, end 4 dc; 118 dc.
Row 4 — Ch 3, turn, work 4 dc, inc. in next st and every 9th st, end 4 dc; 131 dc.

SLEEVES
Beginning at underarm with row 3 of pat., work even on 7 pats, for 17 rows.
Cuffs—Ch 3, turn, 1 dc under each ch 1 and ch 3, 1 dc in turning ch; 38 dc. Work 3 rows more in dc.
Edging—Ch 4, turn, 1 sc in 2nd dc, * ch 3, skip 1 st, 1 sc in next st; repeat from * to end. Fasten off. Working from right side, beginning at lower edge of right front, work 1 row sc on fronts and around neck edge, keeping work flat. Fasten off. Working from same side, repeat edging of cuffs. CHRISTENING SET CAP
Ch 4, join with slip st into ring.

Instep Tab — Ch 17 for width across instep, 1 dc in 4th st from hook and in each st of ch; 15 dc.
Row 2 — Ch 3, turn, 1 dc in 2nd dc and in every dc, 1 dc in top of turning ch. Repeat last row until there are 7 rows.
Foot — Ch 17, work 15 dc on ch, 16 dc along side of instep, 15 dc on foundation ch, 16 dc along other side of instep; join separate strand in same place as last dc, ch 15, fasten off; continue row, working 15 dc on ch; 77 dc. Work 2 rows even. Fasten off.
Working along upper part of instep and sides, join in end st of foundation ch.
Row 1 — wrong side — Ch 4, 1 dc in first st, skip 2 sts, * 1 shell of 5 dc with ch 1 between in next st, skip 2 sts, 2 dc with ch 3 between in next st, skip 3 sts *; repeat between *’s to end; 6 pats. Work next row same as pat. row 4 of sacque. Work 6 rows even in pat. Fasten off. Sew up back.
Sole — Ch 16; work 14 dc for 14 rows. Join sole to bootee by working 1 row of sc through both upper and sole, holding upper toward you. Holding work the same way, work 1 row sc around sides and bottom of instep tab. Fasten off. Steam lightly.
Cords — With 2 strands, ch 5, join with slip st into ring, 8 sc in ring, join, ch 13 ins., join end into ring with slip st in 6th st from hook, 8 sc in ring, join. Fasten off. Weave through first pat. row as illustrated. Embroider if desired.
CHRISTENING SET LONG COAT
Work same as sacque until 4 rows below armholes. Then separate for back and fronts.
RIGHT FRONT
First Inc. Row — Work as for pat. row 3 until there are 7 shells, skip 1 sp, end 2 dc with ch 3 between in center sp of next shell.
2nd Inc. Row — Ch 4, turn, 2 dc with ch 3 between in first sp, finish same as pat. row 4, keeping front edge even.
3rd Inc. Row — Work same as pat. row 5, having 1/2 shell at front edge, 7 shells, end 2 dc with ch 1 between in last sp (1/2 pat. increased at underarm).
4th Inc. Row — Ch 4, 1 dc in first sp, 1 sc in first sp of shell, ch 3, 1 sc in next sp, finish row.
Work 10 rows even. Repeat last 14 rows until there are 9 1/2 pats. Work even until 17 1/2 ins. from neck edge or desired length, end with pat. row 4 or 6. Fasten off.
BACK
Work from same side as first inc. row of right front, with loop on hook, work 2 dc with ch 3 between in same sp as last dc of first inc. row, skip 1 sp, 1 shell under next ch 3, continue pat. to left underarm, end 2 dc with ch 3 between in center sp above next shell; 11 shells.
2nd Inc. Row — Ch 4, turn, 2 dc with ch 3 between in first sp, 1 sc in first sp of shell, ch 3, 1 sc in next sp, continue pat., end 2 dc with ch 3 between in last sp, ch 1, 1 dc in last st.
3rd Inc. Row — Ch 4, turn, 1 dc in first sp, 1 shell under next ch 3, continue pat., end 2 dc with ch 1 between in last sp; 1/2 shell increased at each side.
