12 – 1-oz. Balls Pink or any Color Desired and 2 – 1-oz. Balls White
Bone Crochet Hook No. 3
5 Yards of 3/4 Inch Ribbon

This crocheted bunting is so simple – just one straight piece which may be used as an afghan when it has outgrown its use as a baby bunting.
GAUGE – 3 Star Clusters = 1 Inch; 3 Rows = 1 Inch
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
Make a ch about 45 inches long, yarn over, insert in 3rd st from hook and draw loop through, yarn over, skip 1 st insert in next st, draw through, yarn over and draw through all loops on needle, * ch 1, yarn over, insert in same space with last st, pull through, yarn over, skip 1 st, insert in next st and draw through, yarn over and draw through all sts on needle, and repeat from * until work measures 38 inches, cut off remaining ch, ch 3, turn.
2nd Row – Yarn over, insert in 3rd st from hook, draw through, yarn over, insert in next st, draw through, yarn over and draw through all loops on needle, * ch 1, yarn over, insert in same space with last st and draw through, yarn over, skip 1 st, insert in next st and draw through, yarn over and draw through all sts on needle, repeat from * across row.
Repeat last row until work measures 28 inches.
Next Row – Start decreasing for hood edge. Continue in pattern decreasing 1 star cluster st every 3rd row 4 times making all decreases on one side. Continue decreases all on one side. Then decrease 1 star cluster every other row 3 times.
Next 10 Rows – Decrease 1 cluster st each row.
Next 2 rows decrease 2 cluster sts each row, fasten off.
With White work a row of s c all around.
Next Row – Beading. Ch 6, yarn over needle, insert in 4th st from hook, pull through leaving all loops on needle, yarn over needle, skip 1 s c, insert in next s c and work off all loops on needle 2 at a time, * ch 1, yarn over needle 3 times, skip 1 s c, insert in next s c and work off 2 loops twice having 3 loops left on needle, yarn over needle once, skip 1 s c, insert in next s c and work off all loops 2 at a time, ch 1, d c in center of double treble to form a K, repeat from * all around, working corners without skipping the s c between sts.
Next Row – 5 d c with ch 1 between in center of K st, ch 1, s c in center of next K st, ch 1, repeat from beginning all around working 7 d c with ch 1 between in corner sts.
Fold in half forming a triangle. Measure about 27 inches from lower edge of short sides to rounded corner and place a marker on each side, then measure about 10 1/2 inches from center of rounded corner and place a marker. Lace ribbon through from side marker to center marker then to other side marker forming a semi-circle for hood leaving ends to tie.
Fold each short side in half and beginning at neck edge lace ribbon through both sections of each side forming the shoulders. Lace ribbon through remainder of bunting. Lace ribbon through front of hood.
Fold point up as illustrated and tie.
