Crochet Bib - Free Crochet Pattern

REQUIRED MATERIALS

Bucilla Wonder-Knit, Art. 3777:
Main Color (MC) 1 Skein
Contrasting Color (CC) 1 Skein
Steel Crochet Hook, Size 0

NOTE(s)

Gauge for Crochet Bib: 6 sts = 1″

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS

With MC ch 30, sc in 2nd ch from hook, * (ch 1, skip next ch, sc in next ch) 7 times *, 2 more sc in same st as last sc; repeat between *’s once.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in first sc, * (ch 1, skip next ch-1, sc in next sc) * to center sc of 3-sc group at center, ch 1, hdc in center sc, ch 1, sc in next sc; repeat between *’s to end of row.

Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc in first sc, work in pat. to ch before hdc at center, ch 1, 3 sc in hdc, work in pat. to end of row.

Repeat rows 2 and 3 alternately until 16 rows are completed, using colors as follows: 13 rows MC, 1 row CC, 1 row MC, 1 row CC. Fasten off.

Crochet Bib – Edging

With MC starting at neck edge and working along side, work (1 sc, ch 1) in end of each row, 3 sc in corner, work in pat. to other corner, 3 sc in corner, work other side to correspond. Fasten off.

Row 2: Turn, with CC, 1 sc in first sc, (ch 1, 1 sc) in each sc to end of row, do not fasten off.

Crochet Bib – Tie Strings

Ch for 7″, sl st in each ch, work a row of sl sts along neck edge to first sc of row 2 of Edging, join in first sc, ch for 7″, sl st in each ch, sl st in joined st, fasten off.
