AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY “SILLATEEN SANSIL” 2 60-Yd Balls White
Steel Crochet Hook No. 10
1 Yard Narrow Ribbon
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
1st Row – Ch 38, s c in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in each remaining ch, ch 1, turn.
2nd Row – Working in back loop of stitch only. 1 s c in each of the next 18 s c, 3 sc in next s c, 1 sc in next 18 s c, ch 1, turn.
3rd Row – 1 s c in each s c.
4th Row – 1 s c in each s c to center, 3 sc in center st, 1 sc in each remaining st, ch 1, turn.
Repeat 3rd and 4th rows until there are 20 ribs or 40 rows, break thread.
Edging for Vintage Baby Bib Pattern
Join thread at side of neck, ch 5, d c in next rib * ch 2, d c in next rib, repeat from * 17 times, ch 2, d c in same space (corner) work 13 2-ch meshes to center of bib ch 2, d c in same space.
Work other half to correspond.
2nd Row – Turn and sl st into mesh, ch 6, d c in same space, * ch 5, skip 2 meshes, 2 d c with ch 3 between -in next mesh, repeat from * across row, skipping only 1 mesh at points, turn.
3rd Row – Sl st to center of 3 ch loop, * ch 3, d c in center st of next ch, ch 3, d c in same space, ch 3, s c in next 3 ch loop, repeat from * across row, turn.
4th Row – 2 s c over 1st loop * ch 2, 2 d c in next loop, ch 3, 2 d c in same loop, ch 2, 2 s c over each of the next 2 loops, repeat from * across row.
Beading for Vintage Baby Bib Pattern
Ch 33, break thread and attach ch to side of neck. Attach thread to other side of neck and ch 38, turn and work 1 d c in 8th st from hook, * ch 2, skip 2 chs, 1 d c in next ch, repeat from * across chain working 2 ch meshes across bib, work other ch to correspond.
2nd Row – Turn, sl st to mesh, ch 5, 1 d c in same mesh, * ch 2, 2 sc in next mesh, ch 2, 1 d c in next mesh, ch 3, 1 d c in same mesh, repeat from * around both sides of heading, and neck edge of bib. Lace ribbon through heading.
