REQUIRED MATERIALS

Bucilla Wonder-Knit, Article 3777:
3 skeins Main Color (B);
2 skeins Contrasting Color (A)
Steel Crochet Hook, Size 0

NOTE(s)

This set consists of 3 Doilies, approximately 11 inches, 8 1/2 inches and 7 1/2 inches in diameter.

Gauge: 9 sts = 2 inches 1 dc rnd = 3/8 inch

(A) To join even number (dc) rnds, keep B on wrong side of work, insert hook in 3rd ch and draw A thru eh and loop on hook.

(B) Shell: [ch 1, 3 dc, ch 1] all in same st.

(C) To join odd (Shell) rnds, keep A on wrong side of work, insert hook in free loop in front of first Shell and draw B thru both loops on hook.

11 Inch Doily

With A ch 5, join with slip st to form ring.

Rnd 1 (right side) – Ch 2, * yo, draw up a loop in ring, yo, thru 1 loop, yo, thru all 3 loops on hook; rpt from * 14 times in same ring; to join, keep A on wrong side of work, insert hook in 2nd ch, draw B thru both loops on hook.

Rnd 2 (dc-rnd) – Do not turn, with B ch 3, 1 dc in joined st, 2 dc in each of next 15 sts; join (see Note A); (32 dc in rnd, including ch 3).

Rnd 3 (Shell-rnd) – ^ Turn, skip joined st, with A * work a Shell (see Note B) in back loop of next st, slip st in each of next 3 sts; rpt from * to and including joined st, ^ join (see Note C); (8 Shells with 3 slip sts between each).

Rnd 4 (dc-rnd) Begin this and all dc-rnds hereafter: – with B ch S, turn, skip joined st and work in back loop of slip sts, * 1 dc in next slip st, 3 dc in next slip st, 1 hdc in next slip st, 1 dc in free loop behind Shell; rpt from * around; end last rpt 1 hdc, join.

Rnd 5 – Turn, skip joined st, with A * work a Shell in back loop of next hdc, slip st in each dc to next hdc; rpt from * to and including joined st, join; (8 Shells with 2 more slip sts between each than previous Shell rnd).

Rnd 6 – * 1 dc in each of next 2 slip sts, 3 dc in next st, 1 dc in next st, 1 hdc in next st, 1 dc in free loop behind Shell; rpt from * around; end last rpt, 1 hdc, join.

Rpt Rnd 5.

Rnd 8 – * 1 dc in each of next 3 sts, 3 dc in next st, 1 dc in each of 2 sts, ^^ 1 hdc in next st, 1 dc in free loop behind Shell; rpt from * around; end last rpt, 1 hdc, join ^^.

Rpt Rnd 5.

Rnd 10 – * 1 dc in each of next 4 sts, 3 dc in next st, 1 dc in each of 3 sts; rpt between ^^’s once.

Rpt Rnd 5.

Rnd 12 – * 1 dc in each of next 5 sts, 3 dc in next st, 1 dc in each of 4 sts; rpt between ^^’s once.

Rpt Rnd 5.

Rnd 14 – * 1 dc in each of next 6 sts, 3 dc in next st, 1 dc in each of 5 sts; rpt between ^^’s once.

Rpt Rnd 5.

Rnd 16 – * 1 dc in each of next 7 sts, 3 dc in next st, 1 dc in each of 6 sts; rpt between ^^’s once.

Rpt Rnd 5.

Rnd 18 – * 1 dc in each of next 8 sts, 3 dc in next st, 1 dc in each of 7 sts; rpt between ^^’s once, fasten off B.

Crocheting the Edging

Rpt between ^’s of rnd 3, join with slip st in free loop in front of first Shell, fasten off.

8 1/2 Inch Doily

Work to end of rnd 14 of 11 inch Doily, fasten off B. Work same Edging as 11 inch Doily.

7 1/2 Inch Doily

Work to end of rnd 10 of 11 inch Doily, fasten off B. Work same Edging as 11 inch Doily.
