STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
Crochet Mittens – Right Mitten
Starting at center of Back make a chain to measure 5 1/2 (5 3/4, 6 1/4)”.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across to within last ch, 3 sc in next ch (tip) ; sc in each ch along opposite side of starting ch. Ch 2, turn.
Row 2 (right side): Working thru back lps only, hdc in 2nd sc, hdc in each of next 5 (5, 5) sc; sc in next 5 (5, 5) sc; hdc in each sc to within the 3-sc at tip, (2 hdc in next sc) 3 times (3 incs.), hdc in each sc to within last 11 ( 11, 11) sc; sc in next 5 (5, 5) sc; hdc in last 6 (6, 6) sc. Ch 1, turn.
Work all hdc rows thru back lps only and all sc rows thru both lps.
Row 3: Working thru both lps, sc in each st around, making 3 incs. evenly spaced around tip, but do not have incs. directly over incs. of previous row. Rows 2 and 3 establish pattern.
Repeat rows 2 and 3 alternately until piece measures 3 1/4 (3 1/4, 3 1/4)” across width, ending with hdc row.
Crochet Mittens – Thumb and Palm
Sc in next 15 (16, 17) sts; ch 9 (9, 10) sts.
Row 1: Hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in each of next 6 (6, 7) ch. Working in back lps only, hdc in each sc to within last 11 (11, 11) sc; sc in next 5 (5, 5) sc; hdc in each sc to end of row. Ch 1, turn.
Row 2: Sc in each st across, 2 sc in top of turning ch. Ch 2, turn.
Row 3: Hdc in 2nd sc, hdc in each sc to within last 11 (11, 11) sts; sc in next 5 (5, 5) sc. Hdc in each sc to end of row. Ch 1, turn.
Row 4: Sc in each st across to within the turning ch, sl st in top of turning ch. Break off.
Attach yarn to the 11 (11, 11) st from wrist edge. Working toward wrist edge in back lps only, sc in same st where yarn was attached, sc in next 4 (4, 4) sc, hdc to end of row. Ch 1, turn.

Crochet Mittens – Left Mitten
Work same as Right Mitten, reversing all shaping. Sew wrist seams neatly. With right side to you, work 1 row sc around wrist edge and around edge of hand and thumb.
Holding Leather Palm and lining together, work 2 buttonhole sts in each perforation around. Sew leather Palm and Crocheted pieces together with cross stitch.
