Tuxedo Wedgie-Shu Soles No. 450A
Tuxedo Metalastic, 50 yd. Spools – 2 (3, 3) Spools
Steel Crochet Hook No. 1

NOTE(s)

This pair of crochet shoes can be crocheted in sizes small, medium, and large. The instructions in this pattern are for small size. Changes for medium and large sizes are in parentheses.

Gauge: 13 sc = 2″; 9 rows = 1″.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS

Work in back lp of each st throughout.

How to Crochet Slippers – Vamp

Ch 13 (15, 17). Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. Working in back lps only, continue in sc, inc. 1 st each end of every row (To Inc.-work 2 sc in first st and 2 sc in last st) until there are 26 (28, 32) sts on row.

Work even until piece measures 3 (3 1/4, 3 3/4)” from start.

At end of last row do not turn but, continue around, working 1 sc in each st and end of each row, working 3 sc in each corner. Fasten off.

How to Crochet Slippers – Heel Piece

Ch 36 (40, 46). Work even in pat. until piece measures 2 (2 1/4, 2 3/4)”. At end of row, ch 22 (24, 28) for ankle strap, Sc in 4th ch from hook (buttonhole) and in each ch and st to end of row. Continue in sc around entire piece. Fasten off.

How to Crochet Slippers – Instep Strap

Ch 21 (25, 29) Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 1, turn.

Work even for 3 rows. Fasten off. Sew one end of strap at center of Vamp. Loop other end around ankle strap and sew in place. Sew Toe and Heel pieces to sole along stitching. Use heavy thread.

Buttons: Ch 4. Join with sl st to form ring. Work 20 sc in ring. Fasten off thread and pull scs together to form nub. Sew to heel piece.
