Custom Crochet Hook Handles

by Sharon

(California)

I make a comfortable handle for my smaller hooks by using polymer clay. I shape a fistful in my hand and place a hook into it. Making sure the hook is facing the proper direction, and keeping my hand closed, I gently twist the hook and remove it.

Following the directions on the package of polymer clay, I bake my handle. Once hardened I am able to slide the hook in and I’m ready to crochet. It works especially well for the smaller hooks.
