Crochet Doily Pattern - Luncheon Set

REQUIRED MATERIALS

Bucilla Wonder-Knit, Article 3777:
6 skeins Dark Color (A);
7 skeins Light Color (B).
Steel Crochet Hook, Size 0.

NOTE(S)

This set consists of 8 pieces, approximate sizes: 4 Doilies, 15 inches by 18 inches; 4 Doilies, 6 1/2 inches by 7 1/2 inches.

Gauge: 5 sts – 1 inch.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS

Luncheon Set – Large Doily (Make 4)

With A ch 12 for base.

Rnd 1 (right side) – 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook, * 1 sc in next ch, 1 hdc in next ch, 1 dc in each of next 5 chs, 1 hdc in next ch, 1 sc in next ch *, 5 sc in last ch; rpt between *’s on other side of foundation ch; end, 2 more sc in same st as first sc, join (with slip st) in back loop of first sc; (28 sts in rnd).

Rnd 2 – Ch 1, 2 sc in joined st, 1 sc in back loop of each of next 13 sts, 2 sc in back loop of next st, [ch 15 and 1 sc] all in each of next 2 sts (2 Ch-15 Loops), a Ch-13 Loop in each of next 2 sts, a Ch-12 Loop in each of 6 sts, a Ch-13 Loop in each of 2 sts, a Ch-15 Loop in each of 2 sts (last sc is worked in joined st), slip st in first sc; (14 Loops in rnd), fasten off.

Row 1 – With A make a loop on hook, from right side work 1 sc in first Loop, a Ch-4 Loop in each of next 4 Loops, a Ch-3 Loop in each of 5 Loops, a Ch-4 Loop in each of 4 Loops; (13 Loops in row).

Row 2 – Ch 4, turn, 1 sc in first Loop, a Ch-4 Loop in each remaining Loop, ch 4, 1 sc in last sc; (14 Loops in row).

Row 3 – Ch 4, turn, 3 tr (yo twice) in first Loop, 4 tr in each of next 3 Loops, 3 tr in each of 6 Loops, 4 tr in each of last 4 Loops; (50 tr in row, including ch 4).

Row 4 – Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in first st, * draw up a loop in same st just used, draw up a loop in next st, yo, thru all 3 Loops on hook; rpt from * across; (50 sts in row).

Rpt row 4 twice.

Row 7 – Ch 4, turn, 1 tr in first st (1 inc.), 1 tr in each of next 11 sts, 2 tr in next st, * 1 tr in each of 4 sts, 2 tr in next st; rpt from * 4 times, 1 tr in each of 11 sts, 2 tr in last st; (58 tr in row).

Rpt row 4, 3 times; (58 sts in row).

Row 11 – Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first st, 1 sc in next st, * 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st; rpt from * across; (87 sc in row), fasten off.

Row 12 – From right side, with B 1 sc in first sc, then a Ch-3 Loop (ch 3 and 1 sc) in every 2nd sc to last 2 sc, ch 1, skip 1 sc, 1 dc in last sc; (43 Loops in row).

Row 13 – Turn, skip first Loop, a Ch-3 Loop in each Loop across to, but not including last Loop, ch 1, 1 dc in last Loop; (1 Loop less than previous row).

Rpt row 13 until there is 1 Loop in row, fasten off.

Edging for Large Doily – Luncheon Set

From right side, with A 1 sc in last st of row 11, work [34 sc with ch 1 between each] across base of Doily to and including first st of row 11, spacing sts evenly, ** 1 sc in first B sp, work Picot Shells as follows: * ch 3, slip st in 3rd ch from hook, draw up a loop in same sp just used, draw up a loop in next sp, yo, thru all 3 loops on hook; rpt from * around to first Picot Shell, join in sc, fasten off **.

Luncheon Set – Small Doily (Make 4)

With A ch 10 for base.

Rnd 1 – 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in next ch, 1 hdc in next ch, 1 dc in each of 3 chs, 1 hdc in next ch, 1 sc in eaeh of 2 chs, slip st in each ch on other side of foundation ch, join in first sc.

Row 1 (right side) – Ch 1, 1 sc in joined st, a Ch-11 Loop in next st, a Ch-9 Loop in next st, a Ch-7 Loop in each of 4 sts, a Ch-9 Loop in next st, a Ch-11 Loop in next st (8 Loops in row), fasten off.

Row 2 – From right side, with A 1 sc in first Loop, a Ch-4 Loop in each of next 2 Loops, a Ch-3 Loop in each of 3 Loops, a Ch-4 Loop in each of 2 Loops; (7 Loops in row).

Rpt row 2 of Large Doily; (8 Loops in row).

Row 4 – Ch 1, turn, 4 sc in each Loop across; (32 sc in row).

Rpt row 4 of Large Doily 3 times; (32 sts in row).

Row 8 – Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each st across, 1 more sc in last st; (33 sc in row), fasten off.

Rpt row 12 of Large Doily; (16 Loops in row).

Rpt row 13.

Rpt last row until there is 1 Loop in row, fasten off.

Edging for Small Doily – Luncheon Set

From right side, with A 1 sc in last st of row 8, [20 sc with ch-1 between each] across base to and including first st of row 8, spacing sts evenly, then rpt between **’s of Edging of Large Doily.
