STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
Commence with 101 chain, make 1 treble, 1 chain, 1 treble in 7th stitch from needle; * 1 chain, miss one, 1 treble in next, 1 chain, miss one, 1 treble, 1 chain, 1 treble in next. Repeat from * to end, finishing with 1 treble.
2nd Row – 3 chain, * 1 treble, 2 chain, 1 treble, in chain between treble group, 1 treble on single treble. Repeat from *, ending with single treble.
3rd Row – chain, 1 treble, 1 chain, in centre of treble group, * 1 chain, 1 treble on single treble, 1 chain, 1 treble, 2 chain, 1 treble in centre of next treble group. Repeat from *. Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows until you have 24 rows from the beginning.
Next Row – 28 chain. Work across back as usual, 30 chain.
Next Row – l treble, 2 chain, 1 treble, in 5th chain from needle, miss one, 1 treble in next, then work row as usual. Work 14 more rows.
Next Row – Work until the single treble after 15th group, turn, and work back to cuff, then back to neck again. Now add one more treble at neck end every row, keeping the pattern correct all the time, until you have 32 rows at cuff end. Turn, and work back, leaving 7 groups and 7 single treble unworked.
Work other shoulder and front exactly the same. Break off silk.
Now work to front on 1st side, then straight on across second side, then work backwards and forwards the full width until front is the same length as back from under-arm.
Sew up sides and sleeves.
Around neck make alternately 1 double crochet, 3 treble.
2nd Row – 3 treble in each double crochet, and 1 double crochet in centre of each treble group.
Work 1st row around sleeves, then 4 treble instead of 3 in 2nd row.
Work 1st and 2nd row at foot.
3rd Row – 1 treble in centre of each group, and 1 treble, 2 chain, 1 treble in each double crochet.
4th Row – 3 treble in each single treble, 1 double crochet in chain between treble group.
5th Row – Like 2nd.
6th Row – 4 treble instead of three.
Coarser silk will make a much larger Jumper.
