STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS

BABY PRAM SET SACQUE

YOKE

Back —

With A ch 112 for lower edge.

Row 1 — 1 sc in 2nd st from hook, * ch 1, skip 1 st, 1 sc in next st; repeat from * to end of ch; 56 sc with ch 1 between.

Row 2 — Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in first sc, * ch 1, skip ch, 1 sc in next sc; repeat from * to end.

Repeat row 2 for pat. Work 3 rows even.

Armhole Shaping —

Row 6 — Ch 1, turn, skip sc, 1 sc under ch 1, 1 sc in next sc; work pat. to within 2 sts of end, 1 sc under ch (1 st dec. each side).

Row 7 — Ch 1, turn, skip sc, 1 sc in next sc, work pat. to within1 st of end (2 sts dec). Repeat rows 6 and 7 once; 52 sc with ch 1 between. Work pat. even until 42 rows from beginning. Fasten off.

RIGHT FRONT

With A ch 56. Work 5 rows as for back.

Row 6 — Ch 1, turn, skip sc, 1 sc under ch, 1 sc in next sc, work pat. to end (1 st decreased at armhole edge). Keeping front edge even, work to within 1 st of end on next row.

Repeat last 2 rows once.

Work even on remaining 26 sc until 24 rows from beginning, end at front edge. Slip st over first 4 sts on next row for neck shaping, work pat. to end. Continue pat. decreasing 1 st at neck edge every row until 17 sc with ch 1 between remain. Work even until 42 rows from beginning. Fasten off.

LEFT FRONT

Work as for right front, shaping arm-hole and neck edge at opposite sides. Sew underarm and shoulder seams.

LOWER PART OF SACQUE

With A, work 1 sc in each st of foundation ch around yoke, another sc in last st; 222 sc.

Wave Pattern

SLEEVES

With A, ch 34 for top of sleeve.

Row 1 — 1 dc in 5th ch from hook, ch 1 and 1 dc in each of next 3 sts, * 1 tr in each of next 3 sts, ch 3, 1 dc in next st, ch 1 and 1 dc in each of next 5 sts; repeat from * twice, end last repeat with ch 1 and 1 dc in each of last 4 sts.

Inc. 1 m each side on each of next 4 rows; 9 m at each side in all.

Join B at seam. Working from right side, ch 1, * 1 sc in each of next 3 sc, ch 3, skip 3 sts; repeat from * to end, slip st to first sc.

Row 2 — Ch 3, work dec. group as follows: yo, draw up a loop in first sc, yo, through 2 loops, yo, draw up a loop in next sc, yo, through 2 loops, yo, draw up a loop in next sc, yo, through 2 loops, yo, through all loops on hook, * 2 dc in next ch 3 loop, 3 dc in center st of loop, 2 dc in same loop, work dec. group over next 3 sc; repeat from * around, end last repeat with slip st on top of ch 3. Right Front Band

With A, beginning at lower edge of yoke, work 26 sc to neck edge.

Row 2 — Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each sc.

Row 3 — Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in first sc, * ch 3, skip 3 sts for buttonloop, 1 sc in each of next 4 sc; repeat from *, end last repeat 1 sc. Fasten off.

Work 3 rows sc on left front edge to correspond omitting buttonloops. Fasten off.

Rick-rack Edging on Right Front

With B, beginning at neck edge, fold band over toward wrong side; working (toward lower edge) over first sc row under band, work * 1 sc in each of 3 sc, ch 3, skip 3 sts; repeat from *, end at lower edge with 1 sc in each of last 3 sc.

Row 2 — Ch 3, turn, continue as for row 2 of edging on sleeves, end with dec. group. Fasten off. Beginning at lower edge, work edging on left front to correspond.

COLLAR

Leaving band and rick-rack edge free, join A in first sc at neck edge of left front, work around neck, ch 4,1 dc in next sc, * ch 1,1 dc in next sc; repeat from * to end. Work in front loop of sts for next 3 rows as follows:

Row 2 — Ch 4, turn, 1 dc in 2nd dc, work m to end; 61 m.

Row 3 — Ch 4, turn, 1 dc in 2nd dc, ch 1, 1 dc in next de, * ch 1, 1 dc in same st with last dc (an inc.), work 3 m; repeat from *, end last repeat with 2 m; 81 m.

With A and loop on hook, beginning at neck edge of left side, work 3 sc in each of 3 m on short side of collar, 5 sc in corner m, 159 sc to next corner (about 2 sc in each m), 5 sc in corner m, 3 sc in each of next 3 m. Fasten off.

Rick-rack Edging

Join B in sc row of edging on right front, * ch 3, skip 3 sc on collar edge, 1 sc in each of next 3 sc; repeat from * once, ch 5 for corner loop, 1 sc in same st as last sc, 1 sc in each of next 2 sts, ch 3, skip 3 sts, 1 sc in each of next 3 sts, continue to corner, work next corner to correspond, finish row, end with slip st in sc in row 1 of edging on left front, ch 2, slip st on top of turning ch of row 2, turn. CENTER BACK

With A ch 4; join with slip st into ring. Work 8 sc in ring, join with slip st in first sc. Join each round in same way.

Round 2 — Ch 1, 2 sc in same st as slip st, 2 sc in each st, join.

Round 3 — Ch 1, 1 sc in same st, * ch 1, 1 sc in next st; repeat from *, end ch 1, join; 16 sc with ch 1 between.

Round 4 — Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in joining st, * ch 1, skip ch, 1 sc in next sc; repeat from *, end ch 1, join.

Repeat round 4 for pat. Work 1 round even.

Wave Pattern

Row 1 — Same as row 1 on sacque working to within 20 sts of end; 9 pats; 20 sts left at back of neck.

Row 2 — Same as row 2 on sacque. Repeat row 2 until 15 rows from beginning.

Neckband

Do not turn; continue working on side of pat., working 26 sc to back neck (about 2 sc in each row), 16 sc across back, 26 sc on other side. Ch 1, turn, work 1 sc in each sc. Fasten off.

Border

With A, beginning at lower edge of band at left side, working on wrong side of cap, work 153 sc across front to other side of band, working about 17 sc to each pat.

Row 2 — Ch 1, turn; working in back loop of sts, 1 sc in first sc, * ch 1, skip 1 st, 1 sc in next st; repeat from * to end.

Rick-Rack at Inner Edge of Border

Working from right side with outer edge toward you, with A and loop on hook work 1 sc in free loop of each st in first row of border; 153 sc. Fasten off.

Join B in last st of last row, ch 1, turn. Work next 2 rows to correspond to rows 1 and 2 on other side. Steam lightly. Sew in lining. Trim as illustrated.

BABY PRAM SET CARRIAGE COVER

This baby carriage cover is approximately 27 inches by 30 inches.

CENTER

With A ch 269.

Row 1 — 1 dc in 6th st from hook, work m by ch 1, skip 1 st, 1 dc in next st, work 3 m,* skip 3 sts, 1 tr in each of next 3 sts, ch 3, 1 dc in next st, work 5 m; repeat from * to end; 15 wave pats.

Row 2 — Ch 4, turn, working in front loop of sts, 1 dc in 2nd dc, ch 1, skip 1 ch, 1 dc in next dc; work 3 m more, * skip 3 ch, 1 tr in each of next 3 tr, ch 3, 1 dc in next dc, work 5 m; repeat from *, end with last dc in 2nd st on turning ch.

Rounds 2-10 — Same as on carriage cover.

Round 11 — Same as round 14 on cover having 146 sc on each short side and 194 sc on each long side, including corner sts. Work rick-rack edging same as on cover. Steam lightly. Sew to pillow form.
