REQUIRED MATERIALS
PEARL COTTON, Size 5, 3 Balls of White
Steel Crochet Hook No. 4
1 1/4 Yards of Pink Satin Ribbon, 1/4 Inch Wide
1 Small Pearl Button
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
Starting at neck, ch 90 to measure 9 inches.
1st Row – Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 3, turn.
2nd Row – 4 dc in first sc, * skip 1 sc, sc in next sc, skip 1 sc, 5 dc in next sc (shell made). Repeat from * across (23 shells). Ch 3, turn.
3rd Row – Sc in center of first shell, * shell in next sc, sc in center of next shell. Repeat from * across (22 shells). Ch 3, turn.
4th, 5th, and 6th Rows – Repeat 3rd row – 1 shell decreased on each row (19 shells on 6th row).
7th Row – Sc in center of first shell, * ch 3, dc in next sc, ch 3, sc in center of next shell. Repeat from * across. Break off.
8th Row – Skip 10 sps, attach thread to next sc, sc in same place, (3 sc in next sp, sc in next dc, 3 sc in next sp, sc in next sc) 8 times. Ch 3, turn.
9th Row – Repeat 2nd row (17 shells on row). Repeat 3rd row until 1 shell remains. Break off.
Beading for Free Crochet Baby Bib Pattern
Attach thread to first sc of 8th row, * ch 3, dc in turning chain of next shell, ( ch 3, dc in next sc ) twice. Repeat from * to last shell worked, ending with dc in turning chain; ch 3, dc in next sc, ch 3, dc in center st of shell, ch 3, dc in next sc and complete to correspond with other side. Break off.
Scalloped Edge for Free Crochet Baby Bib Pattern
1st Row – Attach thread to first sp at top of Bib, 3 sc in same sp, * sc in next st, 3 sc in next sp. Repeat from * across. Ch 1, turn.
2nd Row – Sc in first sc, * skip 3 sc, 7 dc in next sc, skip 3 sc, sc in next sc. Repeat from * across. Break off.
Lace ribbon through heading. Make 2 small bows and sew to sides. Fasten back with a button and a ch-5 button loop at opposite side.
