This pair of crocheted shoes can be crocheted in sizes small, medium, and large. The instructions in this pattern are for small size. Changes for medium and large sizes are in parentheses.
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
Crocheted Shoes – Vamp
Ch 13.
Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in 3 ch, 5 dc in next ch, dc in remaining 5 ch. Ch 1, turn.
Row 2 and all even rows: Sc in front lp of each dc and in top of turning ch-3. Ch 3, turn.
Row 3: Dc in back lp of 2nd sc, dc in back lp of each sc to center sc, 5 dc in back lp of center sc, dc in back lp of each remaining sc. Ch 1, turn.
Repeat Rows 2 and 3 until there are 31 (35-39) sts ending with 2nd row. Ch 3, turn.
Next Row: Yo, insert hook in back lp of 2nd sc and pull lp through, yo and draw thru 2 lps, yo, insert hook in back lp of next sc and pull lp thru, yo and draw thru 2 lps, yo and draw thru remaining 3 lps (a dec. made) ; dc in back lp of each sc to center sc, 5 dc in back lp of center sc, dc in hack lp of each sc to last 2 sc, make a dec. over last 2 sc-33 (37-41) sts. Ch 1, turn.
Following Row: Skip 1st dc, sc in front lp of each dc to last dc, skip last dc, sc in top of turning ch-3, 31 (35-39) sts. Ch 3, turn. Repeat last 2 rows 2 more times. End off.
Crocheted Shoes – Heel Piece
Ch 34 (36-38).
Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in each ch across-33 (35-37) dc counting turning ch-3 as 1 dc. Ch 1, turn.
Row 2: Repeat “Following Row” of Vamp (1 sc dec. at each end). Ch 3, turn.
Row 3: Working in the back lps only of sc’s work dc’s across dec. 1 dc at each end. Ch 1, turn.
Repeat rows 2 and 3 until 21 sts remain. End off.
Crocheted Shoes – Ankle Strap
Make a chain 2″ longer than ankle measurement. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across, 3 sc in last ch; then work sc along opposite side of starting chain. End off. Pin Vamp in place; then sew to stitching on top of sole. Pin Heel Piece in place and sew on sole. Fasten buckle to 1 end of Ankle strap. Sew Ankle Strap across top of Heel Piece.
Crocheted Shoes – Wedge Covering
Ch 3.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook sc in next ch, Ch 1, turn.
Row 2: 2 sc in 1st sc, so in next sc. Ch 1, turn.
Row 3: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
Row 4: 2 sc in 1st sc, sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
Repeat 3rd and 4th rows until there are 7 sc on row. Place a marker in work. Ch 1, turn.
Repeat 3rd row until piece, when slightly stretched reaches from start of rise of wedge to center back of heel. Place another marker in work. Work same number of rows straight, counting from marker to marker. Skip 1st sc on shaped edge on every other row until 2 sc remain. Remove markers and work straight over 2 sc until piece when slightly stretched covers remaining edge of sole. End off. Join ends of this piece; then sew long ends to upper and lower rows of stitching on sole.
