Centerpiece measures 10" x 13".
Each side piece measures 10" square.

Gauge for Vanity Set or Doily: Motif measures 1 1/2" square.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS

Vanity Set or Doily Centerpiece

First Motif: Starting at center, ch 8. Join with sl st to form ring.

Rnd 1: 16 sc in ring. join.

Rod 2: Ch 8, dc in 6th ch from hook, * skip next sc, dc in next sc, ch 5, dc in last dc made. Repeat from * around. Join to 3rd ch of ch-8.

Rnd 3: Ch 9, dc in 6th ch from hook, * dc in next lp, ch 5, dc in last dc made, tr in next dc, ch 5, dc in last tr made. Repeat from * around. Join to 4lh ch of ch-9.

Rnd 4: Sl st in next lp, ch 4, 2 tr in same lp, * ch 7, 3 tr in next lp, (ch 3, 3 dc in next lp) twice; ch 3, 3 tr in next lp. Repeat from * around. Join and break off.

Vanity Set or Doily - Second Motif

Work as for First Motif until 3 rnds are completed.

Rnd 4: Sl st in next lp, ch 4, 2 tr in same lp, ch 3, sl st in corresponding lp on First Motif, ch 3, 3 tr in next lp on Second Motif, ch 3, 3 dc in next lp, ch 1, sl st in corresponding sp on First Motif, ch 1, 3 dc in next sp on Second Motif. Complete rnd as for First Motif, joining next corner lp as before.

Make 5 rows of 7 motifs, joining adjacent sides as Second Motif was joined to First Motif (where 4 corners meet join 3rd and 4th corners to joining of previous 2 corners).

Vanity Set or Doily Ruffle

Rnd 1: Attach thread in any ch-7 lp at corner, 11 sc in same lp,* (sc in each of the next 3 dc, 3 sc in next sp) 4 times; sc in sl st between motifs, 3 sc in next sp. Repeat from * around, making 11 sc in each corner lp. Join.

Rnd 2: Sc in same place as sl st, * ch 5, sc in next sc. Repeat from * around. Join.

Rnd 3: Sl st to center of next lp, sc in same lp, * ch 6, sc in next lp. Repeat from * around. Join.

Rnd 4 thru 7: Repeat Rnd 3 making ch-7 lps on 4th rnd; ch-8 lps on 5th rnd and ch-9 lps on rnds 6 and 7. Join and break off.

Vanity Set or Doily - Side Piece (Make 2):

Make 5 rows of 5 motifs and complete as for Centerpiece.

Starch lightly and press.
