My Grandmother's Old Crochet Set
by Ruth Rees
(Belleview, Florida, USA)
My grandmother was a wonderful crocheter as was my mother. Grandma died in 1998 at the age of 92 and her crocheting tools were passed on to my mother who died in 2011 at the age of 91; so I am the proud owner of all the things they had and some of the things that they made. My grandma had just finished a beautiful white bedspread which I have and there were lots of little things she had done. I have only one of Mom's bedspreads. I was taught to crochet when I was about 11, and didn't pick it back up again until I was 30. It is relaxing to me and I enjoy seeing the patterns when finished. I have a myriad of hooks, just about every size, some I have never used, but will hopefully one day.
