15th to 23rd Rnds - Repeat 12th, 13th, and 14th rnds respectively 3 more times. Work in sc pattern, increasing 6 sc evenly all around on every 3rd rnd, until pieve measures 22 inches around lower edge. Now work without increasing until piece measures 8 inches from center top. Break off.

THE SCALLOP STRIP

Make a chain to reach loosely around outer edge of hat following rnd made in back loop at top. Sc in 2nd ch from hook. * skip 2 ch, 5 dc in next ch, skip 2 ch, sc in next ch. Repeat from * across until piece is long enough to reach around hat. Break off. Make 5 more pieces the same way, spacing each piece 1 1/4 inches apart, and increasing each chain to fit. Sew a pearl drop between each scallop and sew strips in place.
