Infant Baby Booties - Foot
Ch 1, work 1 sc in 2 back loops of each st, leaving front loops free for ridge at edge of sole; join in first sc. Mark last st for center back.
Row 2 — Ch 2, 1 hdc in each st; do not join.
Row 3 — Ch 2, turn, always working through 2 back loops, 39 hdc, work next 2 hdc off as 1 st, 39 hdc.
Row 4 — Ch 2, turn, 32 hdc, skip 4 sts, 1 shell of 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc in next st for instep, skip 5 sts, 1 shell in next st, skip 4 sts, 32 hdc.

Ch 3, turn, * skip 1 sp, 1 shell in next sp *; repeat between *'s 3 times, work instep as before; repeat between *'s 4 times, 1 dc in top of turning ch. Work 2 more rows of shells. Fasten off. Sew seam.
Sole Ridge
Working from right side at center back, with top of shoe toward you, 1 slip st in first free loop of last hdc row of sole, * ch 1, 1 slip st in next loop; repeat from *, join with slip st in first st. Fasten off. Trim with ribbon.
