Bucilla Crochelle or Fleisher's Glo-Twisr, 1 ball (B)
Bucilla or Fleisher's Steel Crochet Hook, Size 6

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS

Handmade Baby Booties Sole

With A, ch 23.

Round 1 — 3 dc in 4th st from hook (heel), 1 dc in each of next 18 sts, 7 dc in last st; working on other side of foundation ch, work 1 dc in each of next 18 sts, 3 dc in same st with first 3 dc, slip st on top of ch 3; 50 dc in round counting ch 3 as 1 dc.

Round 2 — Ch 3, 1 dc in same st with slip st, 2 dc in each of next 2 sts, 1 dc in each of next 19 sts, 2 dc in each of next 7 sts, 1 dc in each of next 19 sts, 2 dc in each of 2 sts, 1 dc in same st with first dc, join as before.

Round 3 — Ch 3, 1 dc in same st, 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in each of next 28 sts, 2 dc in each of next 4 sts, 1 dc in each of next 28 sts, 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in same st with first dc; join as before; 71 dc. Fasten off.

Handmade Baby Booties Top

With B ch 3 for toe.

Row 1 — 1 sc in 2nd st from hook, 3 sc in next st (center), working on other side of ch, 1 sc in next st; 5 sc.

Row 2 — Ch 1, turn, working in back loop of sts, 1 sc in each of first 2 sts, 3 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of next 2 sts.

Row 3 — Ch 1, turn, working in back loop, 2 sc in first st, 1 sc in each of next 2 sts, 3 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st; 11 sts. Fasten off.

Row 4 — Turn, with A, working in front loop of sts, 1 sc in each of 5 sts, 3 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of 5 sts; 13 sc.

Row 5 — Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in first st, 1 picot in same st (worked as in round 2 of border on sweater), * 1 sc in next st, a picot in next st; repeat from *, end 1 picot and 1 sc in last st.

Row 6 — Ch 3, turn, 1 dc in 2nd st, 1 dc in each of next 5 sts, 3 dc in next st (center), 1 dc in each of next 7 sts; 17 dc.

Row 7 — Ch 3, turn, 1 dc in 2nd st, 1 dc in each st to end.

Rows 8, 9 and 10 — Work as for row 6 having 1 more st on each side of center group after each row; 23 sts.

Row 11 — Ch 3, turn, 1 dc in 2nd st, 1 dc in each of next 8 sts, 2 dc in next st, 3 dc in center st, 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in each of next 10 sts; 27 sts.

Row 12 — short row — Ch 3, turn, 1 dc in 2nd st, 1 dc in each of next 7 sts; 9 dc.

Rows 13 to 21 — Same as row 12.

Fasten off. Skip 9 sts on last long row. With loop on hook, work 1 dc in each of next 9 sts. Finish this side to correspond to other side. Fasten off. Sew back seam.

Handmade Baby Booties Beading

Round 1 — With A, beginning at seam, work from right side around top edge, 2 sc under end st of each of next 10 rows, 8 sc across front, 2 sc under end st of each of next 10 rows, join with slip st in first sc; 48 sts.

Round 2 — Ch 1, working in front loop of sts, 1 sc in same st with slip st, * 1 picot in next st, 1 sc in next st; repeat from *, end 1 picot in last st, join as before.

Round 3 — Ch 4, skip picot, * 1 dc in next sc, ch 1, skip picot; repeat from *, end with slip st in 3rd st of ch.

Round 4 — Ch 1, 1 sc in same st with slip st, * 1 picot in next sp, 1 sc in next st; repeat from *, end with picot in last sp, join as before. Fasten off.

Handmade Baby Booties Sock

With B, ch 20.

Row 1 — 1 sc in 2nd st, 1 sc in each st to end; 19 sc.

Row 2 — Ch 1, turn, working in back loop of sts, 1 sc in each st.

Repeat row 2 until 48 rows from beginning. Fasten off leaving an end. Beginning at hack seam sew 1 side edge of sock around top of bootee to the back loops of sts left free in first round of beading. Sew back seam.

With A, beginning at back seam, work sc row around top edge, 1 sc in each row, join with slip st; continue around, * ch 1, 1 sc in next st, 1 picot in next; repeat from * to end, join. Fasten off.

Finishing

Pin sole to top of bootee. With A, beginning at back seam with bootee facing you, work through top and corresponding sts on sole, 2 sc under end st of each dc row, 1 sc in each row around toe with 2 sc at center, continue on other side to correspond, end with slip st in first sc; 76 sc.

Work a 2nd row around working * 1 sc in next st, 1 picot in next st; repeat from * to end. Fasten off. Draw ribbon through beading.
