Crochet Tips when Making Doilies

Correct tension is the key to making beautiful doilies. If the tension is too loose or too tight, the doily will not lay flat. To get the correct tension, wind the string around your hand and fingers until its easy for you to manage with your hook. Also use your little pinky to manage the tension. I hope this helps all doily makers.

Tips when Making Doilies
by: Dawn

Hello Ilene and Everyone,

This is absolutely one of the best tips to know in crocheting. The tension is immediately shown in your work. If it is too loose, the doily will look sloppy and if it is too tight, the doily will pucker and not lay flat. It is really not hard to learn the right tension to use for your style of crocheting. Practice, practice, practice--this is the best teacher.

Thank you.

Dawn
