Free Crochet Glass Jacket Pattern, Vintage Crochet Patterns

Free Glass Jacket/Bun Warmer Pattern

Vintage Glass Jacket/Bun Warmer

Materials Required:

AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY “STAR” BLEND YARN, Article 75 5 skeins White 1 skein each Dk. Green and Red will make 1 bun warmer and 4 glass jackets

Steel crochet hook No. 0

Bun Warmer-With White ch 3, join to form a ring, ch and work 6 sc in ring, join.

2nd Round-2 sc in each sc, do not join rounds. Place a marker at beginning of each round.

3rd Round-* 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc, repeat from * all around (18 sc).

Next 17 Rounds-Work in sc increasing at each increasing point in each round (120 sc).

21st Round-Working in back loop of sts, work 1 sc in each sc, join, ch 3, turn.

22nd Round-1 dc in each sc, join in 3rd st of ch, ch 3, turn.

23rd Round-l dc in each dc, join, ch 3, turn. Repeat the last round 8 times but ch 1 to turn last round.

32nd Round-Beading: 1 sc in each of the next 3 dc, * ch 3, skip 1 dc, 1 sc in each of the next 3 dc, repeat from * all around, ch 3, join in 1st sc, do not turn.

33rd Round-Ch 5, dtrc (3 times over hook) in same space, * 3 dtrc in next st, 2 dtrc in next st, repeat from * all around, join in 5th st of ch, cut White.

Next Round-Attach Dk. Green and work 1 sc in each st, join, cut yarn.

Attach White in free loop of st of 21st round and work 1 sc in free loop of each st all around, join, cut yarn.

Attach snap fasteners to form pockets for buns as illustrated. With Red crochet a ch about 60 inches long. Lace through beading and tie in bow.

Glass Jacket-With White work 1st 6 rounds same as for bun warmer (36 sc).

Next Round-Working in back loop of sts, work 1 sc in each sc, join.

Next Round-Ch 3, 1 dc in each sc, join. Repeat the last round twice. Finish with beading and ruffle same as bun warmer.

Attach yarn in free loop of st of 7th round and with right side of bottom toward you, work 1 sc in each free loop of each st, join, cut yarn.

With Red crochet a ch about 26 inches long. Lace through beading and tie in bow.
