REQUIRED MATERIALS

Bear Brand, Bucilla or Fleisher's Baby Zephyr, 3-fold, 9 balls (A)
Bucilla Crochelle or Fleisher's Glo-Twisr, 4 1/2 balls (B)
Bucilla or Fleisher's Steel Crochet Hook, Size 6

NOTE(s)

This crochet baby blanket is part of a cute baby set for a infant from age 6 months to 1 year. The set also includes a crochet baby sweater, a baby bonnet, and a pair of cute baby booties.

Gauge for this baby blanket pattern: 8 dc - 1 inch.

This crochet baby blanket pattern makes a blanket that is approximately 27 1/2 x 30 1/2 inches in size.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS

Center — Lower Edge

With A, ch 202.

Rows 1 and 2 - Work same as rows 1 and 2 of back of sweater; 200 dc. Repeat row 2 until 112 rows from beginning. Fasten off.

Chain Loop Pattern is worked with B over A background.

Lower Edge

Row 1 — right side — Same as row 1 of ch pattern on sweater; 50 loops.

Rows 2, 3 and 4 — Same as rows 2, 3 and 4 of sweater.

Repeat last 2 rows until 55 ch loop rows from beginning.

Row 56—Work pat. repeating between *'s of row 22 of sweater to fasten last row of loops. Fasten off.

Baby Blanket Border

Round 1 — With A, working from right side, and loop on hook, 3 dc on top of dc at left corner of last dc row, 2 dc under side of same st, * 2 dc under end st of next row; repeat from * to last row, 1 dc under last end st, 5 dc in corner st; working on other side of foundation ch, 1 dc in each st to within last2 sts, skip next st, 5 dc in corner st; work other 2 sides to correspond, end with 2 dc in same st with first 3 dc, join with slip st in top of first dc; an uneven number of sts between corner sts on each side.

Round 2 — Same as round 2 of border on sweater.

Round 3 — Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in joining st, * 1 sc in each st to next corner, 3 sc in corner st; repeat from * around, end 1 sc in same st with first 2 sc, join.

Round 4 — Turn, repeat round 2.

Round 5 — Do not turn (right side) — Ch 3, 2 dc in corner st, * 1 dc in each st to next corner, 5 dc in corner st; repeat from * around, end last repeat 2 dc in first corner, join with slip st in top of ch 3.

Round 6 — Same as round 2.

Rounds 7, 8, 9 and 10 — Repeat rounds 3 and 4 twice. Fasten off.

Finishing

Steam lightly. Line. Trim as illustrated.
